I'm not doing a manual swap. End of topic. I don't see where the manual is better for a DD. I have to drive in rush hour in Memphis, screw that crap!

I know it becomes a natural thing. I can already do that. I've driven manuals for years. I've had dd's of both. I like auto's. My b2 will stay auto. I considered a 5 speed swap before. I have a md05. But it's not going in

and that's not all of it.. if i wasn't so lazy i'd pour some of the fluid out in something and let you see how metallic it is.

Eh, i drive 48 miles to work in traffic. I have always had manuals. So much more control and action. I just picked up my first automatic 5 weeks ago and i have had my license for 10 years. Its an Acura TL. It was almost free so i took it. Its a very nice car. But it does everything automatically. Its shifts, turns on the headlights, moves my seat, turns the radio up, turns the wipers on and what ever the climate control needs to do to keep it at 70 degrees all automatically. Needless to say, its very boring to drive haha

But it is all preference. I helped a buddy swap a manual into a Cummins. That was not a fun swap. Engines are easier IMO. If you have an auto, i would keep it in there

i'm laughing b/c i did a 5 speed swap in a b2 before... its really not that bad on a b2. i can see the cummins being a pain tho.

i don't dislike manuals...i really don't. if/when i replace this as a DD, i might. idk. probably not tho. i like not needing 3 feet in traffic or on trails... some of yall may not know it but... i only have 2 feet! nah jk. the auto v manual debate will go on forever... and there is never going to be a clear winner overall, it depends on the driver, rig, and where/how they are driving. i'm still not doing a manual swap tho.

got the trans tore down today... everything looks fine. found a small piece of the band broke off, nothing to hurt it.... got the t/case checked out. even pulled the diff cover and checked it out. there seems to be A LOT of slack in the aussie, between the 2 "halfs".. idk, i've never seen an aussie with that much slack.

regardless... torque converter must be the problem.. the a4ld will probably get a full kit and a new or rebuilt TC.

also go the guts of the d35 out of the diff housing today getting ready to gear it Thursday night at a friends house over pizza and beer! lol

It's great. My buddy has saved me a ton of money. He wouldn't let me give him a thin dime when he rebuilt my T5. He even pulled it and put it back in.
