Hey guys well this is my 1989 ranger thought it was time for some updates and pictures.

I have done alot of small things to the truck but i still have a list of things needed to be done.

Yesterday i was playing around with some cans of rock guard on my truck, swapped in a better condition tail gate, I cut about a 1" off my front fenders for better clearance.

Things i still need to do is install my set of pacesetter headers, My rad is rotted so i need to replace it, My electronic 4x4 computer got wet from last weekends wheeling so i have no 4 wheel drive. I have a 88 ranger parts truck with the manual shift 4x4 transfer case that im looking into swapping it in.

I have some jeep coil spacers that i want to cut in half and install to have my truck leveled out. I also picked up a D35 ttb from axle with the 3.73 gears for $100 CDN.

Im wanting to get the cherry bomb vortex muffler and dual it out to the rear with its 2 outlets and 1 inlet. From my headers back is 2.5" and i was thinking from the muffler back i do a 2.25 dualled out. will this work out fine having the 2.9L engine.

More updates to come, now that its warm out the progress will begin.

Both manifolds were cracked all the way around.

we got the pas side manifold off....broke 4 bolts off 2 came out easy. Got the 4 bolts drilled out. My dad is gonna pick up a stronger tap set tomorrow from his work. so my truck should be back on the road tomorrow night.

Here is a pic of the pass side with the manifold off.

I removed the heat shield that was on the passenger side and the manifld looked like it was melted, and its cracked all the way around.

I thought it would be easier to have the fenders and wheel wells off to work at it.

Back to work for me! more progress and pics later.

Looks good.

While you have the chance, you should clean all the gunk off the engine; epically off the ground wire you can barley see.

Ya, i was thinking about that last night. Im gonna do it this morning. I like clean haha, this engine hasn't seen this much attention for a long time. I think i had a huge loss of horse power due to have both manifolds cracked, the passenger side looks like it was under alot of stress, little cracks and mushy looking.

Well finally got the headers installed. Its been a long 2 days and it sounds nice. And its not loud at all. I like the power gains. Nice to see no more cracked manifolds and she just puurrrs like a kitten. Ill have some pictures for you guys tomorrow.

looking good man! how much do you need to level the front out?

one word pressure washer. nice ride man my first was a 89 ranger 2.9

I need about a 1.5" to level it. I know my engine needs to be Cleaned...haha sometime when the weather is nicer i will.

you could get close to that by adding some washers under the springs. theres a write up on it in the tech library. just a thought.

Here is some pictures of my new pieces. Got them bolted up and the truck is starting to look pretty sweet. Show bar & Rock slide Rails/side steps.

let me know what you guys think.

I just have cargo coils in the front and i doubled the leaf pack in the back and arched the leafs. The front still sits 1.5" lower so im going to get some coil spacers right away. I also cut a 1" off my fenders because i had a little rubbing.

i like that you went with an explorer grille. nice subtle mod that has to be pointed out to notice. i got the ranger grille on my explorer.
