so the battery was dead and all i did was take it out and put the one out of my ranger in it.
no i did not hook it up backwards and i can bridge the solenoid and engine turns over. no lights work nothing, i cannot figure it out. what could it be:icon_confused: any takers?

I would start by checking the connections at the Starter relay. Clean any sign of corrosion. There are fusable linked wires that connect to the pos side, and they feed power to everything. If that doesn't help, continue checking every connector thru the ignition system.
Don't forget to check and clean all your grounds. Use your favorite repair manual wiring diagrams, to make sure you don't miss any thing.
Start there, and let us know what you found.
