on my 2003 3.0 Ranger. It passed the bench test. The battery is good. Is there a fuse or fusible link somewhere that's loose or blown? The dash gauge shows no charge and oddly the oil pressure gauge also shows o oil pressure.

I would double check it with a meter on the battery. Check the voltage on the battery with the truck off, and then with the engine running. With the engine running should be higher, indicating it really is charging. I will look up and see if you have a fuse, they usually do have a fusible link in the output wire.

To check the fusible link in the output wire, with the truck off, ignition off, take your meter and check the large output connection on the back of the alternator. You should have battery voltage there. If not, the fusible link is blown in that line.

Looks like the yellow/white at the alternator has a fusible link as well as the output wire I was talking about, the large black/orange. They both should have battery power with the truck off.

Does your alternator charge light work when you turn the key to run but not start the truck? That is the signal for the alternator to charge and it's fed with a fuse in the underdash fuse box. Fuse 11, 7.5 amp.

Someone once told me to always check the fuses first, I will try this as soon as I get back out there.
