my 96 ford ranger battery level

Hey guys,I have a 96 ford ranger that has a battery problem.I checked the alternator and it is good,I got the battery level checked and it is saying 80%. I have a 5 speed 2.3 4cly and when I am going thru the gears,everytime I get the RPM's up kind of high! the battery level goes down.and as I come off of the gas,the battery level goes back to normal.What could it be? the wiring harness is tight,cables are tight,alternator is ok,battery is ok,and I am not running anything extra but a tach that I had on the truck for 2 years. Can somebody give me some input? Thank"s

How old is the battery?
Do any lights dim?
The 80% thing kinda throws me off,either it can pass a load test or not.
Battery checkers they use at parts stores are selling tools (thats why they check them for free),I can make mine say what ever I want meaning pass or fail.
If its 5 years or older,get a new one.
No matter how good the Alt. is the battery is the anchor of your electrical system.

Hey thank"s yea! they used a battery checker at Auto-zone. The battery is about 2 and a half years old and I use to run an amplifier straight from the battery about a month ago, but I it didn't start the loss of battery power until last week!..Well,I think that I answered my own question! I will buy another battery,and Not hook up that loud music anymore! besides,I'm getting too old for that anyway! Thank's
