Long time reader - first time poster.
Like the title says, I've somewhat recently acquired my 93 Cayman Green two door XLT. She's a 3.0 with automatic. When I first got her she had an original 63,000 miles.
The first month or so was spent undoing the sins of my brother in-law. First was taking care of the trash bag full of trash and junk that had accumulated in the cab. Took care of the oil change, air filter, low transmission fluid right off the bat, as well as ran a few bottles of fuel system cleaner which really seemed to help it out.
I wasn't happy with the headlights as they were foggy and dull, after reading up online I decided to go with Sylvania ZXE bulbs. I also used a headlight restoring kit to clear up the 20 years worth of haze on the lenses, what an improvement!
Next came installing another 12v cigarette style outlet so I could run my pizza delivery light and charge my cell phone. Haha yes for now, I deliver pizza..
Realizing I had too much to carry in the bed alone I mounted up a Kobalt slim toolbox. My anniversary present for the year, lol.
After getting a little experience wiring on the cigarette lighter and fixing the cheesy green LEDs my BIL had installed poorly I began researching lights. Being on a tight budget I decided to try out a set of Harbor Freight "off road" lights. Wired them up on a relay, with awesome instructions I found here and made my own mounts out of steel L brackets from Lowes. Total cost was about 60 with the mounts and wiring.
Then I decided to spruce up the grille, the chrome was chipping and fading so I hit it up with a semi metallic silver paint job.
Finally, yesterday again after reading up here and many sites online I decided to bite the wallet and stick on a Thrush glasspack to give it a little extra growl
. In my opinion she sounds great and seems to have a bit more pep, seems my fuel economy has gone to crap - probably from all the revving.
There's probably more I'm missing, like the switches inside, the green LEDs inside and other little touches. Need to catch a nice day to get some more pics when she's all cleaned up.
Early on when I first got her ..
Delivering on a baaad snowy night, my Boss's Dodge Diesel 4x4 just barely got me of this hill ..
The new lights and the freshly painted grille..
