My 91 Ranger the stRanger

$700 - it says on their site. He bought more goodies though!

Dana 300 will be plenty strong. I originally thought of going with an Atlas too but quickly realized I'm a cheap bastard lol

If you dont mind me asking, how much was that box?

Yeah when I ordered at the end of last year they were cheaper. And I ordered a bunch of other stuff so I got a discount as well.

Yeah I try to buy the best quality I can afford, but dropping $2k+ is just unreasonable for me. I don't know how these guys build their buggies dropping thousands at a time like its nothing

Didnt you have a D&D doubler already? I wanted to buy one from Behemoth but was scared after all the bad stuff I read online about dealing with him.

Yes a 1350 doubler from DD machine. The bolt pattern didn't fit my tranny for the v8 and my choices were to spend my money on a new tranny adapter to make the ranger stuff work, or spend like $75 more and get a bling doubler.

im ready to see the finished product,i love this truck! even stock it had a good look, that color isnt common around here

Glad you got the harness, I'm sure your gonna get years of reliable use out of it. If you have any questions, just let me know :icon_thumby:

Thanks! I just cant wait to hear this v8 roar. After building the engine and collecting parts for 9 months now, I am ready for some results! Yeah I have only seen this color of ranger maybe 3 times. Unfortunately the hood and and roof are badly deteriorating paint wise and I'm going to have to repaint it soon. Its still going to be blue, but the factory stickers are going to have to come off and I really like those. I am leaning towards the dark midnight blue of the new mustangs.

Thanks again Rick, I may be wiring it sooner than later and if I have any more questions I'll shoot you a pm!

Well I bolted the tranny up to the block and set it in the truck again to finalize my motor mounts. I also started digging through the wiring and taking all the crap out I wont need. About 75% done with that. Bolted up the doubler and tcase also to start making cross members tomorrow. The new drivetrain is really short. Just the dana 300 and behemoths shorty doubler is 17 inches together. Going to have lengthen my rear and shorten the front driveshafts.
The motor is sunk down nice and low. There is plenty of clearance for 3'' header collectors around the firewall and block. Still going to be tight making the driver side header but it looks doable.

This week after I get the cross member made I need to pull engine, put it 100% together, mod the heater box, paint engine bay and finish up wire weeding, then build headers and exhaust.

Are you twin sticking the dana 300? My wife has a dana 300 with the stock shifter in her CJ7. Some times it can be a pain to get it to shift.

Yeah I have a complete dana 300 flip and twin stick kit coming from behemoth drivetrain. The shifters are going to be on the top of the case and not on the bottom. It has adjustable detents, but any gear driven tcase is going to be a bit more difficult to shift. It will have triple sticks in the cab, should be sweet.

I gotta say that jack is pretty awsome! What is it?

Dude you dont even know! I got it at harbor freight for like $120. It was the highest lifting floor jack they had. Heavy duty, nice handle, foot pedal, and a nice big knob on the handle to open/close the pressure valve. Definitely happy with it, it is holding up the tranny in that pic but has more it can go up.

Haha nice ! I put my xfer case in with a floor jack,2 wood blocks a strap, both feet and had the jack sitting on 2x4s to just barely get it high enough and I dont even have a solid axle swap!

I had wrestle mine in SVT, I could almost use a transmission jack designed for a shop lift, without putting my truck in the air. I can almost sit upright under the frame without hitting my head...

You gotta let the air out of tires to change the oil? Haha
