My 91 Ranger the stRanger

Sorry if you've already answered this but what transmission and transfer case are u planning on using behind the 351? Are u gonna run a doubler with it?

might want to consider hacking up some other junkyard shafts.

c4 to behemoth crawlbox to flipped dana 300

Mine looks way closer in the pic than it is. If you look you will notice my steering shaft is disconnected and not installed all the way. The angle I took the pic makes the u joint section look like its rubbing but there is ample clearance, especially when its installed all the way

the clearances look good, i was just ass u me ing it had a rag joint. some do there.

they are fine if you watch them, your gonna make some serious heat now.....

trust me on that one..

Yup the rag joint is what gave me so many problems until I deleted it,now I have plenty of room. Good lookin motor ,cant wait to see it doen!

Ahh I see what you're saying now. You were melting rag joints there? That would be scary as fake for the steering wheel to just spin during driving

Well I got all the wiring figured out and was getting close to cranking it, I was turning it by hand to get TDC on #1 to install the distributer and then found out my flex plate is bent on one spot and drags the teeth across the starter. Time to order more backordered parts and sit on my thumb for 3 weeks.

updates? come on, im drooling over this build!
I should have the flexplate, and the front output for the tcase this week, so maybe I can get this thing started soon! I did get the fenders back on and put on some fender flares. But thats it, I took a break because I was getting burned out, soon though.

Its easy to burn out with that much work goin on! Mines goin on 8 years and I still cant drive it

Sounds good. Guess the A9L is happy running the 351w...

Well I got my rear driveshaft this week and finally got time today to get things together. I had a ton of little stuff to do as well before driving it out of the garage and it took forever. But I finally drove it. Of course after the first trip around the block I noticed oil puking on the header. Found a nice hole in my oil dipstick, welded it closed. I need to get vent tubing for the doubler and tranny tomorrow morning so I can drive it more and get some video. Sounds good and pulls great! I need to mess with timing and tuning more as well. It idles to high and makes the torque converter lockup and stall the engine when I initially put it into reverse or 1st. Also I need a different fan for cooling. It likes to be around 210 idle and going down the road. I will most likely try and find a taurus fan at the JY.

Here is my HAD drive shaft, 1350 both ends, next to my old driveshafts lol
