My 91 ext cab build thread

ya super stoked, just gotta find a good shop to rebuild it for me..

and do you where a guy could go for the best price on a locker for my front diff? :dunno:

If you can find a used one, the ones used in many older Jeeps can be swapped in but beware that there are some variations that might not all work.
As far as I know, all drop in lockers for a D35 will work. The install kit is Ford D35 specific I believe.
Cheapest new is probably a Spartan locker off Ebay. Our dollar is pretty low though.

Cheers.

ya im looking to buy new but, other than an online purchase where would a guy even go? like lordco errr? fukin be pricy there though i bet, even with my 30% discount...

With the exchange on the dollar, you're probably better off ordering off ebay than paying exchange and markup here. jmo tho.
For local my choices would be North Shore Offroad (Langley or N Van), Lowriders by the Boundary bay airport and Mopac auto supply in Langley (they carry Powertrax and other brands)
Not too familiar with any of the places further up the valley, if you know of any post them.
Again, have them write their prices down and play them against each other a bit. Make them earn the sale. The difference is all markup anyway.

I'll check out ebay and make some calls tomorrow, cheers thx

found this on ebay..

http://www.aussielocker.com/index.php/lockers/aussie-locker-xd-13527.html

but its cheaper right from the aussie locker website lol.. Would be $295 US ($382C) with shipping and handling. and then whatever the hell customs brokerage charges would be i guess. what a money grab shit show that is. like, pay to have a package moved over an invisible line after you've already paid someone else shipping and handling charges.. meh.

zf5

spic n span :) ****in took all day almost but she looks sexy now
next step is to remove all the rough castings and smooth everything out to rid the case of weak points

A tiny bit of dirt fell in the top shift hole. so i bought a spray pump and some diesel and sprayed the crap out of it while turning the gears. pretty sure i got it all but i still might fill it with diesel and spin the gears and slosh it around to make sure its all out.
thx to Rowdy Fitzgerald for the good idea on using diesel to clean er out! works amazing as a parts cleaner too i discovered :) cheers!

picked up an 89 351w in rough shape. stripped er down, saving the rods, crank, block and heads. drop them off at the machine shop soon for cleaning and magnafluxing :icon_thumby:

I've also decided to find a good running 351 to use, and build a solid 351 for a later date.

Any reason in particular you're going with a 351w? Just curious lol

cubes. lol. and personal preference. talked to a few guys about their zf5/np205 swaps and they love it with the 302 but kinda wish now that they went 351.

Thats true. I was dead set on a 351 but changed my mind after I found out my 351 was junk. I'll have plenty of gearing if I need it lol
