My 91 Exploder

Call my cell if you need any help. I'll do whatever I can over the phone.

Didnt get as much done as I had hope to yesterday. Had to run get my wheels changed out and a couple other things. Going to try to get it as a roller today. Only thing left to drill hole for are the radius arm mounts.

Ran into some issue with the driver shock tower. It wants to occupy the same space as the clutch master cylinder. Has to notch the top corner out. Going to go back and plate the notch and gusset the inner corner.

About to head back down in a little bit and get back to work.

Looking good! You're moving a lot faster than I did. Didn't think about the clutch master cylinder, hope it doesn't interfere with the new shock mounts I made.

How much did you move the lower coil retainers in?

That conversion joint is in the tech library with a Spicer part #.

Looking forward to seeing it done.

looks great man, coming along quickly, hopefully you get it done so we can see what that beast is gonna look like

Ok didn't know if you went the whole 1" or not.

Ours will be identical in front then, cept I'm only running single shocks now.

Looks good and you sure are moving fast. :bling:
I suppose it really helps when you got all the parts for the swap and just bolt and go.

love the pics, your doing great work. i could learn a thing or 2 from you,, keep it up

Well its on its on weight. Still got to put the brakes on shocks on, finish weld everything and driveshafts and I can drive it. Then going to swap in the doubler.

For anybody looking for some decent drill bits the Hitachi black gold bits from Lowes are damn good. I drilled like 25 1/2" holes in the frame this weekend and a bunch of them were drilling through double plated frame and used the same bit on every single one. Bought 2 and thought I might even need more but just used one. Just use lots of cutting oil.

Looks so nasty. Can't wait to to see some flexin pics! What pitman arm did you end up using? How much drop?

4th pic down, whats up with the rear axle there? looks like it isnt centered in the wheel-well? is it just the angle of the pic?

looks awesome though, nice work man

those springs look like they have a LOT of travel...

humor me here, as i don't know a whole lot about steering components, but the way you have your steering set up, it looks to me like it would cause the wheels to turn right if you hit any bumps... does that actually happen?

any plans to change that stock crossmember, or will it not interfere with anything?

Just a standard drop pitman arm. The angles with it are dead on and the lengths are very similar also. Shouldnt have much if any bump steer.

Whenever I move the tie rod on top of the knuckle I will probably put a stock pitman arm back on it to keep the angles the same.
