my 87 ranger so far

ya i definetly want to keep 4x4 and i would like to keep it a manual trany. i dont know much about trany # is a c6 an automatic if a c6 would bolt up to 5.0 and the t case with no mods, i would consider it. maybe just have to change drive shafts length?

The Rangers came with an M5ODR1, which is a smaller version of the V8 M5ODR2. The R2 came in both 2wd and 4wd versions, the 4WD is what you're looking for. As for C-6's, there were at least three versions in 2 WD, Two were bigblock only (385 series and FE series engines) and a small block C-6, there was also a small block 4WD C-6, I saw one of these just a few weeks ago in an 85 Bronco behind a 351W. That would be the C-6 to grab if you want 4WD

I'm gonna try to re-use them somehow. I want to put piping back into the sidepipes so that when I open the dumps, the sound will roar out of the sidepipes rather than under the truck.

What else..................? I got a chrome tailgate handle, Euro headlights, and a possible rear anti-sway bar on the way.

Engine/drivetrain-wise, I'm done. No turbos or superchargers or nothing like that. Raw V8 power is enough for me!
