Just got it on the road Friday and put a couple hundred miles on it this weekend in the awesome weather we had.

It is a 1995 Ranger Regular cab long box that I picked up last August for $400, it had a bad transmission and a 2.3L I4 that ran quite well.

The topper and wheels didn't come with it for $400, but I didn't have a use for either of them with what I had in mind for the truck.

I pulled the engine and sold that in the first week, scrapped the 7.5" rear axle to make room for the 8.8". It also needed all the rear spring hangers and shackles mounts replaced. I picked up some 17" pony wheels for $100 and some tires with about 300 miles on them for $250.

A few months later and many hours in the garage this is the result:

The Specs:

Engine - 1993 5.0 HO - Full MSD ignition with 6000 rpm chip, march performance serpentine pulley kit, B303 cam, RPM Air Gap intake, and a 600 CFM carb.

Tranmission - AOD - Full manual valve body with push button overdrive, A++ overdrive servo, and hardened input shaft.

Rear Axle - 1993 explorer 8.8" - 3.27 gears, welded.

Suspension - Factory supplied components with a 2" front drop courtesy of the v8 and flipped shackles in the rear to level it out.

Wheels - 20" Enkei - Paid $100 for these from my brother, couldn't say no to a set of 20's at that price with tires that still have some good miles left in them.

Clean truck man, any numbers on the 5.0?

Never had it on a Dyno - It is A basically stock 93/94 5.0HO that I added roller rockers, B303 cam, gear drive timing set, HV oil pump w/ dual sump pan, converter the water pump to the newer explorer style w/o the separator plate, and topped it with the carb and intake. I didn't bore the cylinders since the bores still had good crosshatch in them from the factory, the engine couldn't have had many miles on it.

I hope it sits near the 250HP mark, considering stock they were in the low 200's. Either way it has enough power to be a LOT of fun to drive and I already have a set of AFR 185CC heads on my list of future mods. After those go on there will be some dyno time paid for and every HP will be gathered up. But for now it will stay as is.

195-205 at the wheels untuned through the aod is my guess....

good for 14's:icon_thumby: quicker with traction setups
