Ok so here is my in truck in progress. I'm starting off slow and working my way up to the big stuff cuz I'm definitely not the richest person out there.:bawling:

When I bought the truck it already had the pan on the back and the racing stripes. It also came with a toolbox for the full size trucks which I traded to my shop teacher for the one I have now, but of course it still doesn't fit properly cuz I have the flareside box.:annoyed:

In this picture you can kinda see the remains of the lower half of my bumper which get ripped off when I hit the ditch on one unfortunate -40 night. The damage can be seen the the first pic.

Braved the bitter cold to pick up a couple things from the local junkyard a couple days ago... :yahoo:

Tail lights. One of my reverse lights is out so I needed the connector cuz the bulb is perfectly fine and I've heard from friends that Ford has a bit of an issue with these. But mostly I got them for the rubber rings as my tail light sockets seem to be missing these and they rattle around a lil bit.

Also picked up these bad boys for my windows. I dunno why. One of those impulse buy things I guess. :dntknw: Anyone have tricks to get the old glue off? I used a razor blade already but it looks kinda messy and I want a good seal.

Welcome to TRS!

Looks like you got yourself a good little truck, Like the rollpan, looks good on the stepside i think.

I haven't heard of a light socket problem, more then likely its just dirty connections or something.

As for the glue I would take some ammonia or goof off and go over just the areas with glue, I don't know what it would do to plastic but I know it removes window tint glue very well.

Today was a super productive day!!:yahoo:
I got my tail light sockets in and now all my lights work with no more rattling.
Picked up a window crank for the passenger side door (missing since I got it).
Stuck the double sided tape on the rain guards although I can't put them on the truck til it warms up a little more.

But the most awesomest thing I got done today was...

TADAAAA!!!! I love it!!! :yahoo:

Hit my first snag... :annoyed:

Tried to do a minor tune up. Plugs, wires, filters. But I didn't realize how difficult it was gunna be to get at cylinders three and four on the drivers side. Pain in the a$$!
I did get my shop teacher to order a new socket that will hopefully work. I'll try to finish the job sometime this week. I did get 6 out of the 8 done though.

Alright. Got the lower valance for my bumper ordered up and I should have it in hand tom'w. Gunna get rid of the stock grey and paint it black. Also I will be re-painting the bumper itself and get rid of all the nasty rust spots. whoo!

I have never painted a body part before so this should be interesting...

Hopefully I'll get some pics in the process.

EFFFFF!!!! They sent the wrong one! How do you mix up a Ranger with and F-150. I dunno about anyone else but I think there are a lot of differences, like uh size...

This now sets me back a couple of days... But after thinking about it more I'm not so sure if I want to sand and paint everything with the slushy, nasty crap thats gunna be covering the road in the next week or so.

I ordered it through my schools Autobody program and I don't know where they get their parts from. Just glad I didn't order it online or something cuz then I'de be set back weeks...

An online place would probably be more reliable at getting you the part you ordered, Why not hit up a JY for lower valence? You might even be able to score a set of fog lights as well.

Looks like it's coming along. Nothing like starting a new project.

Lol I got confused for a second... I was like wait why does he have a v8? and then I remembered that the 2.3s had 2 plugs per cylinder... lol

Cool truck though. I like the roll pan

I am planning on doing the same thing with the fog light holes as I did with the grille and mounting some Hellas on the bumper.

3.0ranger1227 - As far as I know they ditched the 2.3 (at least for a the year my truck was built) and used a 2.5

yeah the 2.5 went from 98 to early 01.
its basically a stroked 2.3 tho.

nice work, seems like that truck is gettin love one bit at a time lol

2.3, 2.5, they were the same motors bored/stroked IIRC until the duratec came out, which was back to a 2.3

still I had forgotten that they were double plug
