mustang trans ?

I have a 91 ranger 3.0 AOD and the trans slips in OD but not in D, and I came across a AOD trans from a 87 mustang, and was wondering if it would bolt right up ???

the 3.0 does not have the aod...that is only behind the small block v8s and the 300 6

...hey if ihad to have a truck with an a4ld...i would drive till i got all the parts to swap in a 5 speed

so would the Mustang tranny fit? I know I have the POS a4ld !

can anyone tell me what other Automatic trans will fit this ranger ????

For automatic overdrives? Nothing. Except maybe a 4R44E, which is a slightly better built version of the A4LD that uses electronics to completely control the transmission. The A4LD uses vaccum and a 3-4 shift solenoid. However, you'd need a computer from the 4R44E equipped donor truck and I'm not sure how much it's going to like the distributor on your 3.0.
