i found some parts for a mustang 4 cyl but is it the same thing as a ranger 2.3? im new to the 4 cyls dont know anything about them

what kind of parts and what year engines? The Mustang 2.3's usually had a different head and a different cam, but there are some wrenches thrown in...

a '95-97 2.3 is basically the same as a '98-01 2.5 other than the crank, rods and pistons, the 2.5 rotating assembly will drop into any '89 up block since they are all small journal. For the most part 2.3's are pretty interchangable, exhaust side has stayed the same from the start but there have been 3 or 4 intake side patterns on the head, and probably more types of intake manifolds.

well iv read about the crank and stuff i was just wanting s header maybe some other basic stuff

FWIW the 92-93 4cyl mustang motor is basically the same as the dual plug ranger motor. The ranger engine uses a map sensor and the stang has a bp sensor. The mustang has electric fan and different ecu.
