I an year or two i plan on buying an foxbody 5.0 and I have been doing work and found alot of info but i need a vote. Should i bulid up the motor using the trick flow top end kit and several other mods or buy a procharger and call it a day and just to make it interesting both ideas cost 4300 dollars so give me your idea guys.
Ps what about the vortech kits thanks.

Mark my vote down as building the motor.

I'd take "all motor" over a puffer any day.

I agree, build the motor. I've been wanting to get a fox body and do that for soo long...maybe some day. :dunno:

I refuse to vote in this poll. There is no option for a 351w poked and stroked to a 408.

I'd rather have forced induction, but I'm a certified (or should that be certifiable? :icon_twisted: ) boost junkie!

I voted blower, but you are gonna have to build the engine either way...

I absolutely love the sound of a 'charged V8 getting underway :icon_thumby:

For just another two grand you could get the new OHC 5.0 crate engine from Summit that starts out with the HP where the pushrod starts splitting factory blocks and pretty much the sky is the limit from there. With a $1500 standalone harness it is plug and play.

Dunno how a mod (let alone 4v) really fits in a Fox, I did see a 4v Navigator 5.4 stuffed in one on Pass Time awhile ago though.

I'd go with build the motor for now, puffer comes later!

Building a 351 will be just about as cost effective as building the 302.

I vote for the ohc 5.0 or the 32 valve navigator.

The only thing i will say is that the vortec kit is 3700 dollars and it doesnt need an intercooler or and oil line but it would be fun to build up the motor

It is a shortsighted vision to put very much boost to a stock engine and expect positive long term results... especially on an engine that is 20-30 years old.

Figure on building the engine either way, because you likely will be whether you want to or not.
