is this 4.0 the same as the ranger 4.0 or could it be easly swaped with a ranger sohc motor i saw one @ the pick and pull a few weeks ago and wondered if it would be done since they are rated pretty high in hp

yes but i dont know if it will swap straight across and pretty sure the extra H.P. is electronic, more fuel. my race truck makes at least that kinda of H.P w/bigger inj. and tune
ok well i saw the new mustang was genning 305 hp and 30mph and that sounded dam good 2 me lol

That isn't the 4.0L anymore, its a 3.7L twin turbo'd ecoboost engine.
