Murder Hornets

My sister just yelled at me

You know what's funny... @adsm08 is the only human i know who can pronounce or spell my neices name.

We wei
What did you do.

Pronounce, yes. Spell, well I need to be writing it down, and even then it's sketchy.

I love you... ill never kill you bro. I actually planned on killing todd once. He knows this too.

When I remember. The basement.

I touch my hornet

The Apis cerana, eastern honey bee, has shared territory with the "murder hornet" for a long long time, these bees have developed a way to kill a scout hornet that was out looking for bee hives, even a few at a time

So there is no worry over the end of the world, at least as far as pollination is concerned, lol

The western honey bees may develop there own similar method to defeat this new predator, bees are actually pretty adaptable
And the eastern bees figured it out

@PetroleumJunkie412 interesting read on the carnivorous plants. did not know the bloom time was opposite of the bees cycle.

Here is a Corpse flower (Titan Arum) that is at the university that I went to.. this is from 2016, and as I was in town the weekend that it bloomed (just a day or so after the bloom) I decided to take a look and visit. My son in these pictures was 5 at the time. when the flower is in full bloom, it is over 4 feet in diameter. This usually blooms every 2 years at EIU, so if it is true to its form, it should bloom out this July as well. you can see in some of the pictures where they cut into the flower so you can see what makes the "stink". pretty neat.

here is the website... if it does bloom this year, they will put a live cam on it so you can watch it in real time.

The most elusive for those that grow the darker side of plants, Rafflesia arnoldii, aka stinking corpse lilly:

It's technically not a plant, anamal, fungus, or virus... It's technically all of them.

It's a spore that burrows into its host, a species of vine, then cell by cell takes over its body, repurposes its blood as its own, then grows like a tumor until it ruptures, killing its host when it blooms. Flies pollinate.

Plants are ****ing brutal, mang.

True, but those eastern bees know karate.

Random off beat thought: because they say these murder hornets are coming from China, anyone else think that we should unleash democracy on them in retaliation?

Retaliation for suspecion of causing Covid, Bird flu, People.?. You know... we must retaliate because they live over there and not over here....

Shit when I can shoot insects with a .22 it's become something. 🦗🐜🕷🐛

Dope has a song that I think applies to this situation.

Boom, more scare tactics.

Should we be aware of invasive species and take care in what we do? Sure, but the world isn’t ending tomorrow because there are invasive species out there.

That said, maybe we need to send some feral hogs to China....
