Murder Hornets

"Murder hornets" sounds like fake news. They aren't a new species on earth created in some lab.... They came from Japan or Asia right? Are Japanese or Asians all dead because of these? Nope.

I think we should be more concerned about invasive species like boa's in the everglades.... That's a more real-life problem than a "murder hornet".... I remember watching a show about these murder hornets years ago and yes they are a problem but I think people would kill off the bees before an insect...

People are the real invasive species that ends up killing off other species.....

I threw up in the crock pot again...

The most elusive for those that grow the darker side of plants, Rafflesia arnoldii, aka stinking corpse lilly:

It's technically not a plant, anamal, fungus, or virus... It's technically all of them.

It's a spore that burrows into its host, a species of vine, then cell by cell takes over its body, repurposes its blood as its own, then grows like a tumor until it ruptures, killing its host when it blooms. Flies pollinate.

Plants are ****ing brutal, mang.

Oh, man. I want me of those in my front yard.

Invasive species......................how about Stupid People, nests of them EVERYWHERE!!!!

Ignorant I don't mind, because I are one, but stupid, there is no end to them...................but at least they get good jobs in the media or politics

The Japanese call this hornet/wasp satsujin suzumebachi which literally translates to "murder hornet" some reporter picked up on that name and it stuck

So the only logical thing we can do besides track down their colonies and burn them, We need to create an air defense system for the farmer built honey bee colonies. We use those steel cages over the honey bee colonies with openings big enough for our bees but not the asian hornet. We also will build smaller C-Rams to engage any incoming hostiles.

Or we could just deploy the laser system that burns the wings off of female mosquitos.....

I like my idea better its cooler anyway....

Japan tried importing the European honey bee since they are more efficient pollinators than the Asian honey bee which evolved along side the asian hornet. So they have some defensive capabilities against these Hornets. Needless to say the European honey bee was slaughtered over night. These hornets are pack hunters, They mark their enemies colonies and coordinate their attacks decapitated and stabbing their prey.

Send in the MANTIS !!!

Honeybees were one of the first domesticated insects, and western honeybees were "breed" for higher honey production, i.e. hives with lower honey production in an area were destroyed, giving higher honey producing hives less competition, so a bit "skewed" on the natural selection side of things, lol

So while they did evolved naturally they did get some help for specific traits that "we" found more valuable, and as "we" all know that can come at a cost
Most of the western honeybees are now the same exact species, so when a disease strikes it strikes them all as it spreads
Diversity has many advantages
There was a mite that attacked western honeybees in 1990, then the mysterious Colony Collapse disorder in the 2000's, all the worker bees just disappear from the hive, not found dead, they just all leave, the queen is left behind along with honey and larva, no cause has been found for this, I blame it on Unions, joking :), because it is a serious occurrence with no known explanation

And just as an aside, honeybees are not native to North America, they were brought here from Europe in 1622 to the East coast, and 231 years later they reached the West Coast, naturally

So they are technically an invasive species, but only minor ill effects on local environment, and we wanted them, well wanted the honey, lol

It also means all plants native to North America never relied on bees for pollination, because there weren't any here, for millions of years

Somebody hasn't watched Bee Movie... it is all clearly explained in there.

Sorry Ron, but not even close to true. There used to be 12 different species of pollinating bee native to North America. Now there are six species that are nearly extinct, and six that have already gone extinct.

Bees is goes buzzzzzz

Then, there's always "The Birds and the Bees"...
