About a month ago my 2008 Ranger started having issues with losing electrical power. Wipers slow, electric windows slow, then would not start. Uh oh, sounded like an alternator problem. Replaced with new 130A alternator (not rebuilt) and everything was fine.
About a month later started have brake problems like the ABS system not working right. When braking the truck jumps like brakes locking and released quickly. No warning lights. Sometimes the brake pedal feels mushy, but brake fluid is full. Figured there might be air in the system so planned on having the brakes bled.
Now, twice now, when I have to brake a little harder...
I lose power to a dash cam first. About 10 seconds later the ABS light comes on, then the Brake light, then I lose power to tach, speedometer, coolant temp, gas gauge, and all warning lights. Radio stays on and truck still runs. I hear a clicking sound from the fuse panel like relays clicking. Wipers and other things are still powered but clearly from the battery only.
This time after I turned off the ignition it will not start, just the solenoid clicking.
A bad alternator? I'm not sure. Wiring harness problem? I've looked as best I can and everything looks okay visually.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Turns out it was a simple fix. Wire connector from the alternator was a little corroded resulting in a voltage drop below 10 volts. This will cause all kinds of electrical issues. A little QD cleaner and some dielectric grease and good as new. Thanks for all the input.

I've had similar issues over the years of having my '06. It'll go through an alternator about once a year and a battery every 2 or so years. Except this time- just put in an alternator a few days ago. Good clean connections on everything (truck has been a pavement pounder and garage kept), fired up, charging at 14.1- 14.3 no issues then this morning highway cruising to work everything dash wise flickered and ABS light stayed on. What could possibly cause this truck to eat through alternators and batteries like this?

I would look at the battery negative cables first, disconnect each end and clean
People tend to focus on the positive voltage, but its a DC system, so to get 10amps from positive that same 10amps MUST flow back on negative(it actually flows the other way, lol)

Get a digital volt gauge that plugs into cigar lighter or AUX power port to monitor voltage when you have an issue
they are not expensive and even come with USB charger ports if you need those
