Ok so right now i have a glass pack on my 88' 2.0 L truck. It is loud. I want to quite it down. I want to know what muffler is the best to get as far as high flow so there is no loss in power.

I didn't think there was any power to lose on a 2.0.

get a muffler meant for a diesel farm tractor, plenty of flow, defintly more quiet than a straightpipe. find out what size you need then go down to a tsc, rural king or farm & fleet with a tape in your pocket, pick the right one you need. im running a $44 stanley muffler ment for some type of a john deere, not sure which type. my old '93 chevy 3/4 ton ran one ment for a '67 oliver 1650 diesel.

I went through two Stanley mufflers in as many weeks. Put one new on and took my tractor to a show and it leaked at a seam. Put another new one on for another show and poof it leaked at the same spot too. Didn't pull it hard or anything and both sounded like crap out of the box (or they would have if they came in a box)

Since the last Agco muffler was on it for over 20 years I ponied up $100 and got an OEM muffler from the closest dealer and no leaks, twice as thick material without the goofy crimp weld, sounds like it is supposed to, it doesn't funnel water into the manifold and the paint didn't burn off when I looked at it crooked. Made the Stanley look very stupid.

It varies depending on what brand you get and what style of muffler but like my A-C's basically have a louvered glasspack without the glass.

If you want something cheap you might check into a turbo muffler. Magnaflow is good too but kinda pricey.

it is the highest flowing muffler on the market atm
it's quiet in the cab, and grunty outside.... check out some youtube vids

it's a glasspack design using a full size muffler , unique design, but they are suppose to last much longer than your standard glasspack
i have one right now on the 4.0, and i can't hear it unless i step on the gas

get an oem one off of a truck from the junkyard. It's a 2.0 it's not a performance engine, the stock muffler flows plenty enough for it. plus that's probably the cheapest option.

I just got the Thrush turbo because I don't want to spend a ton of money. I totally took a guess on it and well, Im only running a SI/SOut system and its got some growl when accelereation is applied but idles quite and isn't screaming on highway driving which is what I wanted. Not saying this is the' best muffler ever, but it has the characteristics I wanted. And I definetley felt a little more umphh from it through 1st and 2nd gears. I'm only saying my personal review though.

I had a Cherry Bomb Turbo on my Explorer I liked. But I do have to say.... it's a 2.0 - don't think there's much to be lost or gained with a muffler.

Not to thread jack, but how loud was the cherry bomb turbo inside the cab? The exhaust on my explorer is shot, and my buddy has one that he'll give me. I would like to wake up the tired 4.0 a bit but i want it to be quiet inside.

It is a bit louder than stock. But when you drive a Mustang with welded mufflers, everything else seems quiet. My buddy put a Magnaflow on his 2.9 Ranger, and I thought my 20 dollar (at that time) muffler sounded every bit as good.
