Just got some new tires this week they are Mud Claw MT 32x115x15. They are a cooper off brand made by multi mile company at 169 a piece, not a bad price. So far they have done very well in the snow had them less then 24 hrs and we got 6 inches of snow. They are calling for another snow storm next week. I also when with the no wheel weights for balancing i went with the new thing called counter balancing, it is a power they put inside the rim and it goes to flat spots in the tire and continuously balances the tires when you drive. It was tested mostly with big rig tires and they suggest it with anything over a 31 inch tires. It seems to work well tires ride real smooth have that good MT hum riding down the road but it not overly excessive that it is annoying. Here are some pics of them on the truck

I have the same tires , same size also.

I have had them for a few months now run a little over a hundred miles a day on them.
They do well in the mud , snow and Ice.
Notice on the sidewall it says Extreme Traction...

yea love them so far seem like they hold up well for you driving long distance i know cooper tires are usually a softer compound but on these say they are a harder compound so i hope to get some decent millage at least 40k

Good looking tires, yeah the sand bags they used for balancing are normally used for semis and stuff (because nobody wants to lift and balance a 200+ lb tire lol). They did give you the special valvestems for the sand as well right? because if you try to deflate them the sand with clog up the valve.

Wouldn't such a technology do a poor job balancing the tire at low speeds?

For me they are just as smooth at slow speed as they are at high speed they say that some big rigs have logged over 200k miles with this as apposed to conventional balancing.

I honestly don't know but with such large tires they are still spinning pretty fast and at slow sleeps you don't notice minor imbalances especially on bigger tires. You notice all of the minor imbalances at highway speeds when the wheels spin extremely fast.

I have had them up to 75 mph and they ran just as smooth as any conventional balancing i have had on other tires.

At high speeds Im sure the centrifugal force keeps the sand evenly dispersed and balancing the tire... And I guess at low speeds balanced tires are not such a big deal...
I guess it just sounds like the shop trying to take the easy route or something... I bet they still charged you for balancing didn't they? lol

Larger tires take ALOT more weight normally, I work at shops seasonally and let me tell you its easier to through a bag of sand that will constantly balance the tire rather then have to throw 5oz of lead on your rims to keep the tire balanced then have to come back every year to get them redone. They probably charged for the bags of sand instead of the balance.
