2000 3.0 L AT 4x4 XLT I just replaced my motor, another 3.0 I know right, after blowing it up last week. While it was in the shop I swapped out the clunking 7.5 for an 8.8 both 3.73. Today was the first day driving and the speedo was indicating 80 mph while rpms were between 2500 and 3000 prior to the swap I would be going 70/75 in the same rpm range. I was passing some traffic but, no more that usual. Does anyone think I have a problem?
I am going to have someone pace me this weekend. TIA

When you had the motor swapped, did you use your old computer or the one for the new motor? Maybe just that difference in what each was programed for.

the tooth count on the tone ring is most likely different on a 8.8 versus a 7.5 which might be causing the issue

In his case, I think the 4wABS module needs re-flashed.

The part that really throws me is that a 2000 4wd came with a 7.5 in the first place.
I do recall that when I ordered mine, the Off Road package forced you into 4.10 gears and the limited slip rear axle was extra $.

Bought it used, the 4.10 gears were standard on 01's and above, too bad for me. I think 99-00 were bad years for rangers.
