I'm getting about 10-11.5 no load I keep hearing about 15 anyone getting better and what are they doing??

My 99 is getting about 18 mpg right now. In the summer I've done as good as 22 mpg. I see a huge drop in gas mileage once gas stations up here start switching to winter blend gas, but I've never had my mileage drop that low.

me neither

i was getting around 17 to 18 before i changed my plugs and wires, since then my mileage has always been good on my 99 3.0. around 20 always.... there's got to be something wrong if your mileage is that bad.

i get around 15mpg, 1994 ext. cab 2wd, 3.73 gears w/ 30x9.50 mud tires. can you put a scan tool on the truck and see what engine temperature your computer is reading? something as simple as a bad temp sensor can cause a considerable drop in mileage.

99 extended cab, 4x4, 4.11 gears, 255/70/16 tires, 5 speed, 87 octane fuel... 65-70mph max on highway. 20-23mpg

my reg cab 93 3.0 5 spd. open road 65-70 3.45:1 gets 26 mpg

i average about 17-19mpg city- couldn't tell ya the last time i checked on the highway tho. i'm sure it would be a quite a bit higher.

My 3.0 4x4 Supercab 5-speed got the good MPGs cited above, UNTIL this 10% ethanol CRAP became the norm here in FL... now it's quite a bit lower. :annoyed:

I hate to think what it would be with ALgore's nightmare known as E85. Basically, unless the E85 is 40-50% cheaper than petrol, do NOT get it.

I have a '98 3.0 4x4 with 145,000 and 32" tires just calculated 15.8 mpg from full tank aprox 20 gal, up and down mountain roads and freeway .
i just changed the plugs, wires and MAF sensor

Kinda dissapointed being sqeezed into this underpowered litle bucket of bolts because my full sized '97 F-150 4x4 got 14.5 MPG pretty consistently
We have that damn commie Glo-bull Whatever gas here too and it gets terrible mileage and pollutes like crazy, but it's the flowery peaceful type polution that smells like acorn incense so it's OK for the government to mandate it be crammed down our plenums [/gov hating rant]

thats pretty good for a 3.0L and 32s. i will prolly get better as a 2wd but still.....

wow i wish i got as good as yall do in the 20s shot idk what im getting but it aint that good on regualr 83 ocatne gas the cheap stuff from one of our local chain gas stations and by the time im on half a tank ive only gone anywhere from 150 to 120 miles when i use 93 from the BP i might get 160 to 165 on half a tank mark maybe 230 miles on E maybe 250 miles on E everything is stock. no cels or anything i have an automatic trans an 4.10s. is something wrong with my truck or is that normal

What size tank do you have?

My '99 with 31" tires, auto, and 4.10 gears has averaged 21.5 mpg over the last two and a half years I've been keeping records (I drive mostly highway).

I have a '98 3.0 4x4 with 145,000 and 32" tires just calculated 15.8 mpg from full tank aprox 20 gal, up and down mountain roads and freeway .

Is that with the odometer corrections?

i thought these trucks had a 17 gallon tank well thats how big my tank is atleast

It depends on the configuration. Mine has a 20 gallon tank, and I usually get about 200-250 miles on the first half of the tank.
