it would only "sense" 1 bank of the engine, so it wouldn't get what the other side of the engine was doing. if this is just used for short runs?? may not be a problem??

If you don't have an O2? The pcm won't be able to compensate for rich and lean conditions and will also run in open loop all the time.

The PCM uses the readings from the MAP and O2 sensors to determine how much fuel is needed at any given time. Without it the truck will run rich and use a lot of fuel.

ya i know, but do you think it will be better for perfornace, it will only be short runs...

you will get the best performance out of the system when the system is working correctly. removing the o2 sensor or using it to only measure one bank of the engine will affect performance to some extent, and it won't be in a good way. the best solution to your problem would be to run headers with a y pipe but the engine is going to be gutless on the low end because it will have zero backpressure.
