Ok. so i want to move my rear axle forward 5-8 inches. however we all know the gas tank is in the way.. i really dont want to deal with a fuel cell idea or different tank in the bed. and ppl always talk about loosening tank straps and stuff.. would it be possible to move the tank forward say 5 inches by moving the tank mounting system forward? any ideas for this would be appreciated!! also anyone have any driveline ideas for an axle moved up 5-8 inches?!

thanks

Why exactly do you want to move the axle up for?

If you move the fuel tank you will have to make up a new fuel filler neck and move the wiring and fuel lines around... plus you will probably have to move the engine/transmission/transfer case up because I am pretty sure the transfer case is going to be in the way and if not the tank will be close enough to cause a problem.

And you are going to need to cut out the fender or something too. and have your driveshaft shortend at a shop
