Could I possibly move the shocks on my 94 ranger from inside the frame rails to out side the frame rails? I know I wold need longer shocks and all. But it would make it more stable to move them out don't you think? I'm really not planning on doing it but I got bored at work and saw this set up on an 05 toyota tacoma.

Dude...that's actually pretty cool, except the shocks through the bed. But I guess that's the only way they will fit nice, eh? So what do you think of the ride? Is it any more stable than the stock set up?

Having them mounted up high like that is about the only way you can get way from it if you any amount of decent wheel travel. The farther your move the shock towards the tire the longer it needs to be for the same amount of wheel travel. The ride is much more stable, less body roll on the street. It rides a bit stiffer because the shocks have damn near a 1:1 ratio on them now.
