When I left click my mouse and try to highlight something to copy and paste it, the cursor skips. What's worse is when it skips it will pick up letters and move them. Just started doing this last week. I thought it was my wireless mouse so I plugged in a wired mouse, and it still does it.

Searched online and can't find a solution. Anyone ever overcome this?

Optical mice, I'm assuming. Anything change on the surface you've got them sitting on?

Try using a mouse pad? Pluging it into a different port?

Stuck key or malfunctioning touchpad are the only things that I have seen behave like that. Did you take the battery out of your wireless mouse so that it is totally disabled?

Still using the same mouse pad. I switched from my wireless mouse to one that plugs in, but that mouse does the same thing.

Right but did you disable the wireless mouse by taking the battery out? If it's bluetooth it will still be connected.... if it had a transmitter and you took that out, then probably good.

Does the mouse movement function normally in general? Or is it just when selecting an object?

I unplugged the transmitter for the wireless mouse. The mouse itself works ok. It's just when I need to copy, or drag anything that it skips.

And it happens no matter what application you're running?

Yes. Touch pad works ok though. I think the problem is on the computer end, not the mouse.

Are you accidently bumbing the touch pad while working? Did that a bunch so I disabled the touch pad.

Yes. Touch pad works ok though. I think the problem is on the computer end, not the mouse.
Agreed, I'm just struggling to wrap my head around where the problem is originating. Presumably driver or Windows settings at this point.

May be your mouse while doing copy\drag is skipping cause they're really happy\gay?

Seriously, I use an app called "ClickFix"
not sure it fixes your issue though.
I also autodisable the touchpad when the mouse is connected.

TouchPad? Where's that? Is that the little dark rectangle where I put my shotglass on the keyboard? Thought it was a small coaster.
