Anyone have any idea what the Motorcraft part number is for the front shock absorbers on an 86 Ranger 4X4? I have the rear shocks but I can't seem to find the front. Thanks.

According to www.rockauto.com, it should be AS1024G on front, and AS1044G on the back. They have them for 17.32 a piece right now.

Ya all know what's also the same? Monroe sensatracs.

lol...motorcraft doesnt make shocks, monroe does for them i think.....so....whats the difference, id spend the extra couple bucks on some good nitro shocks, ur lookin at about 40 per shock but u will pretty much never have to change them

Most people do this to restore the factory feel. I need new shocks, and I am undecided as to what I want, but the Sensatracs are the most appealing I've looked at.

i wouldnt want the factory feel of hitting a few bumps in quick succession and my shocks foaming all up inside and doing nothing.

Yeah, I'm trying to go with the factory feel so that's why I've been looking Motorcraft shocks. I like rock auto, and I've bought parts from them before. I don't think you noticed, but they give two different options for rear shocks on my truck (AS1044G and ASHV1049). Every other site I went to only gave me part number ASHV1049, so I bought that one. On the other hand, only two sites have given me a Motorcraft part number for the front: Rock Auto- AS1024G, and oehq.com- ASHV999. Nowhere else that I've checked offers Motorcraft shocks for the front and that's why I posted this thread. I just don't know which part to get. Thanks to everyone for all the responses and help.

I just bought these since the price was so cheap. It was the number shane96 gave you. Got them from Rockauto too...Great site.

So I assume that the AS1024G fit up with no problem? I guess I'll eventually buy those then, after Christmas probably. Thank you for your feedback.

Yeah, They should work. You might want to run by Rockauto. It'll tell you if they still have them available for your truck.

Well, I found out that the Ford part number on the front shocks is FU2Z-18V124-AD, but I don't know yet for sure what that translates to for Motorcraft.
