Every MotorCraft part i have replaced on my truck as been the original part wich is 22 years old, im kind of convinced to start buying MotorCraft parts and not the others. What do you guys think?

i buy motorcraft when i can, i dont go out of my way for it. but if it's there and not too expensive, i'll get it. ford recommends motorcraft parts b/c that's what they designed the engine to use, doesnt mean other stuff wont work well.

It doesn't mean the other stuff WON'T work, but it does mean the motorcraft WILL work. I'd always rather put my money on a sure thing.

Always.

i always put premium replacement parts in my vehicles..i use them everyday and they cost me a lot of money to purchase..my vehicles are my rolling investment, the better i take care of them, the longer i can use them before they need repair or replacement..

sometimes spending a little more up front saves thousands in repair bills later..

not necessarily, i decided to try some motorcraft oil in my explorer along with a motorcraft filter. now i'm the proud owner of the most annoying lifter tick i've ever had the pleasure of hearing. never had a problem with it before. i try to drive it as much as i can and i'm actually gonna change it at 3000 miles for the first time ever.

the oil filter seems to be doing its job tho, oil is pretty clean....plus, they're cheaper than most of the other brands

I've sworn by mobil 1 since even before I owned my truck, but motorcraft filters are all I'll run on this thing.

There's lots of threads around here about it, the motorcraft filter is on par with just about ever premium filter on the market and it costs as much as a fram, sometimes even less! There's no reason NOT to run one.

After what I have read over and over on here, when this ranger I have now rolls it will have motorcraft stuff. Weather its truck parts or hookers, you get what you pay for when you put it to the floor.:icon_thumby:

Dunno about Ford, but I know some other brands start subbing things out to lower bidders after the machine starts getting some age on it. So the name brand you paid a premium for isn't the same as what you are taking off.

A year ago when I did the water pump in my truck I noticed it had a motorcraft fan belt, which scared the heck out of me because I know the PO wouldn't have gone to Ford for a belt.

I use Motorcraft oil and filters with great results. Spark plugs in my F-150 too because they are a PITA to change. Otherwise I just get the better stuff from a parts store and get along fine.

yeah, i always ran frams in my b2 and eplorer with no problems, then someone posted a write up on here comparing some different brands. noticed they were cheaper, so i'll never use anything else.

good call, i keep my hookers out of the bed as well. i mean, you dont know where they've been.

I use whatever I can rip out of the wrecker.

If I buy new, I just take whatever has a decent sounding name brand (American brands, rather than Chinese, typically) for the cheapest price, or the 2nd cheapest option if all the brands are good, or all the brands suck.

Spark plugs I go with whatever tickles my fancy at the time... Right now I have a set of Champion plugs to put in.

Stuff like oil, and filters I like to buy Mastercraft (thats MASTERcraft) from Canadian Tire... All Mastercraft automotive fluids are made by Esso Imperial.

I try to use MotorCraft parts when ever I can and can afford it. The problem that I have is that a lot of MotorCraft parts include none of the extras that maybe needed (gaskets, seals, bolts, nuts, or pulley). While other brands tend to provide that extra stuff. Its a compermise on what I get and how deep my pockets are and whats being replaced.

oil_ ill use valvoline, or chevron lately.
filters ill stick to fram or motorcraft.

engine parts and electric parts, well basically every part i replace, i replace it with a motorcraft part, even my battery.
the shocks, i went cheap gabriel and i regret it every damn day.

so yeah motorcraft only.
