ok guys there is a guy that has a motor and trans from a 91 explorer with a 103,xxx miles on it its in mechanically sound condition and he wants 550 for it would that be a good donor for my 84 b2?

It would be a good swap, but it could get complex without the whole vehicle to steal parts from.

You need to get your sniffer checked out if you smell a 5.0 swap coming out of a stock '91 Explorer.

You'd be better off finding a wrecked Explorer or one with a bad transmission, that way you have the whole truck to steal parts from, and you can scrap the rest when you're done. Then you'll have the axles you want as well...

what he said ^^^^^ i find them all the time for cheap. get a complete explorer as a donor. or a 4.0 ranger. if you want to stay with manual trans, you will need yo find a 5-speed donor, your trans wont live behind a 4.0

idk i would have to ask but all that is wrong with it is the back hatch is smashed in and and he cant afford to fix it so he wants to part it out
