Would it be worth it swap in a new/reman 3 nothing into my ranger, or to swap in a 302? i have a 93 currently with a 3.0 and she's starting to die on me here, what kind of work money or parts would be necessary...i'm pretty mechanical so i could proly do it myself

Best guess is it will cost you a grand to rebuild and install for yourself, or get a low mileage block from the wrecker maybe couple hundred and use own accessories, but factory rebuild I got no clue. So if you spend a grand or two and get a couple more years you break even I suppose and extra driving time beyond that is bonus? Plan on delays if you haven't done this for yourself before.

a rebuild is not worth it when low-mileage junkyard motors can be had for a few bens.

if you want a v-8...do a v-8. it will cost more and take longer (a lot) than dropping in a junkyard motor.
