Motor swap

Youll need...

Trans.
Motor mounts.
Wireing harness.
ECM.
....

I know im pry forgetting a bunch.

I have 2003 Ranger 3.0 and I want to put a 2002 Explorer 4.0 motor in it

NO, you don't

You can go out an buy a stock Ranger with 4.0l SOHC engine, 2001-2011 Rangers had this engine option

1997 to 2003 4.0l SOHC engines had timing chain issues, so need replacement chains, guides and tensioners
So pass on the 2002 4.0l SOHC from the explorer in any case

It is the same work, and parts, to change engine size in a vehicle
So you would swap in a 5.0l V8 engine into your 2003 Ranger, because you CAN NOT go out and buy a Stock V8 Ranger, Ford never made one, well never made a production V8 Ranger, lol

Sell your 2003 3.0l Ranger and buy a 4.0l Ranger, it will cost much less and be worth more
A swapped engine Ranger has mis-matched VIN so has to have a damaged, rebuilt or salvaged title, with a V8 that can be over looked by most buyers, but for a model you can buy in a stock version it cuts value at least 50%

Huh?

Motors go vroooooom!

Yup, 8th digit in a Ford VIN is engine size, if you change the size then VIN no longer matches, so title needs to reflect that, most states use Rebuilt or Salvaged status on the title to reflect that
You don't have to "tell" any one about the swap, but.......................
