Motor swap In the works

Update:
The Good:

GT40 Heads are now for sale, i ended up finding some Windsor Sr Heads with 2.02 and 1.6 Valve with rockers for a cheap price. They need about 2-300 in labour, but should be good to go, and much more potential for the motor then the GT-40.

The Bad:

The block i bought with the stroker kit was machined on the loose side, and i to get the other block i had in a complete motor ready for machining. The block i have is usuable with different style pistons, but the machinist does not feal comfortable running it as it is. Minor set back is all blocks themselves are fairly cheap.

The New:

Also got theses along with the cylinder heads. if i can make them fit, bonus, if not... they will be for sale. 1.75'' Headers:

Thats all I have for now, next step is to get a block to the shop and get the machine work done, and then go from there... it is getting closer and closer.... i am getting anxious!

Well as i believe i shared ealier, i found out the block i had was not quite right, i had another engine on the side lines for parts, decided i will use the block from it, and it turned out to look good. Got this torn apart, transmission removed and down to bare block with the crank in about 2.5 Hrs. Just need a puller for the front harmonic balancer, and i will be ready to send this block out. Here's some pics of the massacre lol.

Looking good man! And i thought i was going to be making decent power with the swap in my 4x4 :icon_surprised:

what are you doing as far as cooling goes?

Not there yet. looking at going with the 4.0 Rad im thinking and a seperate cooler for the trans, im hoping that will be adequate. Not sure there is much else out there with out hacking crap up too badly.

I'd like to get around 400 hp from the motor at the flywheel, i think it is doable.:icon_hornsup:

You do know that the flow rates on the windsor sr heads really isnt that much better than the GT40's right?

Id run the GT40's they wont be that restrictive, they will give you the power right where you want, in the low end. 300ish rwhp and over 400 in rwtq, would be plenty for a ranger with no weight in the back....

The flow rates are slightly better with the windsor head, and should still make decent torque with the extra displacement, and Trick flow track heat intake. I'm picking a cam that has an operating range of 1600-5600 Rpm with 544 In lift and 555 Exh lift so this should suit the sr heads rather well, as the Gt 40s stop flowing at 500 lift. They may not be necessary, but i willl basicly be paying the same for the Sr heads as i did for the 40's i would say it should do the trick.

Heres some flow figures i found online and put them in a chart to compare them directly. I could not find the non p flow #'s, however the p heads are close, if not very slightly more, as barely. From what i've heard. I had the non p heads, but still a decent comparison in my mind.

I'm in the air on it, first i'm gonna work at getting the drivtrain in, block is machined, need to get the heads done now, and get a mock block done up while the other one is being asembled, so i can get some headers figured out!
