When you guys swap to 5.0 based engines does the swap kit offset the drive train to the passenger side like the rear end is offset?

The diff is offset so the driveshaft can dodge the fuel tank. The frame really isn't straight either, the usual rule of thumb is to center the engine between the fenders.

The rear diff is offset to the passenger side of the vehicle for some reason. One axle is shorter than the other. Does the 50 conversion mirror this or does it center the motor between the frame rails?

Wasn't sure if it would cause drive shaft issues if I centered the motor with the rear still offset. The drive shaft would be at an angle.

My engine is centered between the fenders and the trans is centered between the frame rails and I haven't had a driveshaft problem yet.

Of course the driveshaft would be at an angle. You WANT the driveshaft to be at an angle.

Do you know what happens to U-joints that are run at a zero angle all the time? The lock up and nobody knows about it until they get off that angle and break.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was after. Great info as always. I love this forum!
