bought a 88 ranger roller. what is everyone using for motor mounts? im putting in a 347 stroker. thanks for the help

Some use the mustang convertible mounts, some use L&L mounts, but I use, prefer, and suggest the stock 4.0l mounts with the block plate...

I'm using L&L on my 86 because I picked them up second hand for cheap. If I didn't have them I'd be using the 4.0L mounts and plate.

Im using the mustang mounts. Got them off a memebr on here for cheap.

Two reasons why I prefer and suggest the 4.0l mount and plate is when the mount needs replacement, like the mustang mount, its an off the shelf item so finding a replacement is easy, as well as lifetime warranty cheap, so you buy it once. its also infinitely adjustable (the way I make my plates) without pulling the motor and without the engine crossmember looking like swiss cheese....

mustang mounts?

I have a set of mustang mounts that came on the shortblock that I got out of an 89 gt. Will they work?

Yes, but you will need to mount them to the block, drop the motor and trans in the engine bay, mark the holes, pull the motor, drill the holes and slot them vertically so the mounts can slide into place (or bolt them in before dropping the motor in, then drop the motor in to check if you drilled in the correct location. If you, you need to take note where you are off, pull the motor, modify/move your hole, then drop the motor in again...

trans dapt mounts

how are the trans dapt mounts? i see them on ebay from summit for $62.

The transdapt mounts are very similar to the mustang convertible mounts, but differ in that they are a separable two piece design...

When I did mine, dropoer the engine in once, marked the cross member, took it all out, skipped the drilling part and slotted with an angle grinder. I wasnt going for perfect and so far I have been good.

I did have to swap the mustang mounts sides I.e. driver to passenger side, passenger to driver when I did the first but thats a common thing when using the mustang mounts.
