first off, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms out there!!


now

i have been at my job over 2 years now, and ever since i started there..i have never worked on a sunday(request off) so yesterday, i get the schedule...I WORK ... so i snapped cuz the people that come to my job on sundays are ******* retards that walk with their thumbs up there ***... why the **** cant my manager do a simple ******* task as give me off this sunday? so now i cant be with my family...instead ill be working with fags and old people..

That's just the way life goes sometimes...
I missed almost a year of my kids growing up because of work, 7 days a week, 12-16 hr days on graveyard shift, I missed both of their birthdays, Christmas and other major events due to work.

If you have worked there that long and have never had to work a sunday till now, you dont have much to complain about. Everyone has to work days they dont want to.

Yeah, it really isn't uncommon to have to work at least a 1/2 shift on mother's day.

It really sucks for me when that happens because every couple years my birthday falls on mother's day. At least you have a job, now stop whining.

i normally just set back drink my pepsi and read without posting much.

but i'd like to say you have nothing to complain about, at least you get to see your family. think about those serving in our military that can -not be with their families this mother's day.. enough said there's always someone worse off than us ..

my prayers are with them all for a safe return and many thanks for their choice to serve our country.

Ever gone into work on New Years morning? Not on my schedule but really needed to get some work done so I did. Found another guy in there with the same idea, quiet, no distractions. Like white 95 said more or less, just be thankful you're here and not in the sandbox, at least the food is better now than 45 years ago.

Yeah dude. I didn't get to see my mom at all today. Barely even got to talk to her because my parents had to go down to Nashville to get my sister and I don't live at home anymore.

They were driving back through areas of bad reception, so I got to talk with them all for about 15 minutes total, and its even my birthday today. G/f spent all day in bed hurt. I spent my day by myself.

I'm with everyone else here as well....suck it up!! I worked for eight years at the Int'l Airport here in Calgary. There's no such thing as a day off, flights come and go 24/7 regardless as to what's happening. I've worked every major holiday at every hour of the day. I'm currently working almost 500 hours of overtime (call in/shift work) a year.

My sentiments to all those that cannot be with their family, from armed forces, emergency services, and even those who work to make our lives better. I have been there, and believe that everyone should have to work the odd time to remember what others often do.
