It will help out. I adj mine 8 degrees and it has all kinds of top end power, but i also have a .510 cam too. lol But if you want a user friendly adj sprocket my suggestion is the "stock" appearing one, because its very simple to use and you can fine tune with it.
Hey dhendrix, so you advanced your cam timing 8degrees? Is your head shaved much? If i understand it right every .100 you shave your head it retard the cam timing approx 2.5 degrees. Just wandering so i know where to start with mine. Advancing the cam timing lowers your torque curve, but if you say yours pulls good in the high revs at 8deg advance then i guess thats a good place to start.
To be honest my head is just a stock D port with polished intake ports. lol the truck runs great above 3k rpm. Its a little sluggishon the bottom but im working on fixing that. But according to my cam sprocket im am at 8 degrees on the cam and it does run good. Good luck with your project if you need any help i am willing to try an help. lol
