This project went into a different direction. Im updating the first page.

qYil7.jpg

This is the truck currently. D60 up front 10.25 rear 4.10s locked rear. 44" tires, coil sprung front, 460BBF pushing about 500 HP.

"Me and the crew of SwampAss 4x4 in South Jersey are finally starting our group project with the assistance of my shop AHG Performance.

The project will be a 97 Mazda B4000 Body on a 79 f250 frame. Under this frame will be a D60 front with a S10.25 rear. Ladder bars on rear.

If anyone else is going to be d60 swapping and needs photos let me know. We just did another one as well on a 77 f150.

If anyone wants this done near me I can d60 swap 70s fords for 1200 + parts.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Mazda is my friends Gf's old truck until it was hit on the front passenger side(fender only). Since then it has sat in their yard collecting snakes and spiders.

Here is the list of future mods:

-79' F250 Frame (leaf sprung)
-The frame will be braced with a square stock cage and transfercase cage and setup for future 4link.
-Rear(Future front) Long arms.
-79' F250 Steering
-79' F250 351M (Aussie Heads)
-79' F250 4 Speed and NP 205 (clocked)
-D60 Front (4.10s)
-Sterling 10.25 (4.10s welded, Gears will change in axles once complete)
-Cross Over steering (Hydro assist, Maybe full hydro in the future)
-Looking at 10-15" of lift or more. (Doing maybe a 6-8" drop with a 6" spring and custom shackles)
-Trying to find a set of Kubota tires potentially R1's roughly 44-55" and not too wide (Taking what my friends GF's father can find, Old farmer)
-79' F250 Radiator Relocation to bed

I have before built full sizes, Prefer them, and this build will incorporate a fabrication test, group party truck for special events, and shop advertisement.
We chose to use square stock vs. tube due to the price difference and lack of a bender.

So far with both axles and the f250 chassis, cab, bed, motor, steering, trans, tcase, springs, Mazda setup we are at a price of 540$ into the build. As it stands now we could run the truck with a new intake and carb, and with the axles placed under this truck."

'Scribed, but I dont like the thought of using square stock as a "roll cage". There's a reason why nobody uses it for that.

Not a roll cage, Sub frame cage. Bracing the lower frame and caging around the Tcase.

Heres a few pics of us picking up the chassis. Will get some pics of the Mazda later.

Selling/scraping cab and bed and using the rest. Might use the steering column or might use the mazda's havent looked at the mods needed yet.

Swampass, lol. Nice...

Looking forward to it man. Glad you aren't actually using box tubing for a roll cage.

This will be interesting. Watching this one.

After checking out the Dana60 I purchased, the Spring pad width is 36.5 and the f250 is as we all know 32-32.5. Ive heard horry stories running larger tires on the newer axles, but some say its no problem. We will most likely be doing thin tractor tires or 44x18xR15s.

As I cannot move the spring perch on the drivers side, I might be quickly learning to 4 link this truck and potentially doing an air shock or coil over.

Otherwise, to make this work I will be using 4x4 steel square stock and moving out the brackets on each side slightly. Which will make the build overall ugly.

I was also given the idea to see if I can find someone to trade 2 1/2 tons for 1tons. That would be nice :yahoo:

I would personally just use the ever popular coil/radius arm/track bar combo. It's easily setup for "beginners" and it's fairly cheap to build.

Then I have to find another D44 donor for the crap.

I could design some
attachment.php

to work for us. Even with the radius arms, I believe there would still be a problem centering the axle and lining up a radius arm due to the housing on the newer axles being pushed toward the drivers side more

Its in ok condition needs some work, The cab is fine, the Doors are Eh, the hood is ok on top underneath needs work. Fenders are good. Has no rear glass nor dash stuff.

I was thinking about making you an offer, but there's no way I'd be able to drive down to pick it up, only getting about 12 miles to the gallon right now with the truck I'd be picking it up with.

Plus summers almost over, I don't have time for a cab swap project on our '79 right now.
