Yes, I really took the body off a 84 BII and put on an old beetle. With the 37" tires it looks like you could crush cars. Right now I'm working on losing the gob of wires by changing out the distributor with an older/non computer controlled ignition system.

Also still building firewall. This will probably rarely see a dirt road so is mostly for looks. I own a pizza restaurant and drive a bug now with a mohawk (it creates attention). So a monster bug that looks the same should really be crazy.

So you're running the factory 2.8L drivetrain? Dude, if you can swap a 4.0L in that. That'll turn those 37s better. But I guess if you are going for simplicity, that 2.8L will do. Or a carb'd 302 would be even cooler.

I wish I could fit a 302 or even afford one. I'm trying to figure out how to improve the exhaust, No headers avail. but at least I don't have to deal with emissions because it will be reg as a beetle.

haha, sweet. looks like one of those little RC rock crawlers

Dunno if it would help you any or not, but there was another guy that was doing this on here.

A buddy and I started this a couple years back. There's a thread on here, but not too much info. We were building a custom floor and had the frame shortened both back and front and were going to Duraspark it.

We abandoned it since we were broke, but the guy who bought joined and said he would finish it and post pics. Never happened though.

i got a freind that wants to put a pinto on a 4x4 B2 ....... i think it would be cool, a real 4 wheel drive pinto, not just a name for a jeep
