monroe reflex vs sensa-trac

Oh man do I love Bilsteins... The only reason my Ranger isn't sporting a set is because they weren't offered for front and rear when I looked... That may have changed.

But back on the topic of the Sensa-trac vs Reflexes... I put the Sensa-craps on my truck... and I do not like them. If I were to do it again I would use the Reflexes.

Also, the reason that Rock Auto will dump stock with a lower price and a lesser warranty is because the new stock is usually improved. For instance, i just did the exhaust on my Ranger. Rock Auto offers 2 walker quiet flow mufflers, one was almost half the price, but with no warranty. Why is that? because walker quiet flows are now made with stainless steel, instead of aluminized.

Pay a little more for the full lifetime warranty... With 40k on my Monroes they are leaking.

I know this doesn't have to do with the reflex or sensa-trac shocks, but I bought ProComp ES3000 shocks for my Ranger. The rears are great but the fronts are terrible! It bounces worse now with the new shocks than when I had the factory shocks with 162,000 miles on them! Defective shock?

So the Sensitracs are kind of an all around performer, whereas the Reflexs are better suited for off road action?

I've used both, and currently have a set of Reflexs on the silverado i'm driving. there's not much of a difference, that I can notice.

A sensatrac is a factory style shock for onroad grocery getters. It provides soft dampening to help soak up bumps and sacrifices some handling to achieve that. I usually sell them to most people looking for a OEM replacement shock that handles just as well or better than the factory set.

A reflex is the same thing as the rancho rsx line....its a gas charged shock that not only provides dampening, but also good rebound characteristics that result in keeping your tire in contact with the road. This means they initially ride a bit stiffer than the sensatracs (which you will not notice after the first time driving it), but handling is improved. They also have self adjusting valving...when you drive down the interstate it closes providing great handling, and when you hit the dirt roads it opens to allow a softer ride.

I personally like the reflex over the sensatracs, just personal opinion. Bilsteins still are better than both, but the price is alittle more too...

Thanks, thats basicly what I was looking for YS.

I want something that has better attributes on rough terrain than highway. There arent many smooth roads around here, especially working in road construction.

will moroe reflex shocks fit my 2007 xlt

I want to change shocks from my old worn out stock I came accross the Monroe reflex but it says for FX models does that matter if so what should I get really have my eyes set on those
