Modifying skyjacker 6" lift brackets

I have everything for my skyjacker 8" lift except for the brackets. Has anyone ever tried or know someone that has tried to modify there 6" brackets? I'm guessing that the 8" brackets are just 2" longer than the 6. Could I just take some 1/4 steel and cut out the pattern of the bracket and just make it 2" longer? If anyone has any info on this it would help me out alot. Thanks, Brad

I don't believe SJ sells 8" brackets. However, you can run the 8" coils on the 6" brackets; just mount the beams in the lower pivot holes.

Skyjacker sells the brackets but there 300 for drop brackets and 260 for radius arm brackets. My 6" kit must be old because there's only one hole and each bracket. I see where people are running the 6" brackets with 8" coils, wouldn't that seriously mess up the alignment- caster/ camber?

8" coils work well on Supercab trucks because they are heavier. I doubt it'd work on a BII or a standard cab truck though.

There was a guy on here awhile back that modded a set of Skyjacker brackets like you're proposing (his name was 'Nemisus'). I don't recall him having any issues with it, other than the fact the steering gets all haywire with that much lift (the Stonecrusher linkage on a Skyjacker #FA600 drop pitman arm would be your only truly decent option available for steering that).
