Missing tow hooks - need recovery advice

Go down to a farm supply, tractor or implement dealer and get a couple clevises.. They're inexpensive and you won't break it. You can get straight or twisted. The difference being that the rounded side of it will be horizontal or vertical after mounting it. Done deal and inexpensive.

True, only thing is if I drill them out they would never work for a tow bar again. I'd probably be better off trying to sell it and just buy hooks. I wonder if there's much of a market for these tow bar brackets and how much I could sell it for...

RV forums. Big motor home people use tow bars....

Frankly I'd just get a big chunk of 2" wide fsteel flat bar as thick as the gap between the two ears on each side cut it about 4" long, drill a 1/2" diameter hole in one end and secure it to the tow bracket bit a 1/2" bolt that has a long enough shank to
completely span the ears.

In the OTHEr end of the flat bar drill a hole sufficiently large enough to aloow the use of the Shackle of your choice.

a 1/2" diameter bolt in "double shear" like that will support a suprisingly large ammount of load.

I really like this suggestion! It keeps the towbar unaltered and I get the look and functionality of using my D-shackles on the front bumper. I think I will give this a try when I have some time.
