what hose is that, and how bad is it if its bent like that

and where is the hose that should go there?

On my '99, there is a similar-looking hose that runs from the oil fill riser to the intake duct.

Not sure what it does or what it is called, but that is what it looks like. I'll go back out and see if there is a part # on it.

Well, your motor is now ingesting air that is not being metered by the MAF, so it's probably not running as good as it should be.

I bet if you un-bend that bent hose, it will turn out to be your missing hose.

I agree, it looks like it got tucked up under the rad. hose to get it out of the way and never got put back on. It's problably been replaced with a rubber hose instead of the plastic tube that I have.

you were right, that kinked hose went nowhere. but i hooked it up and it idles high and if i rev it, it keeps revving high for about 5 or 6 seconds after i let off the gas. any thoughts?

yeah. its probably been running with it off for a long time, so maybe the ecu learned to run with it off and now it needs to relearn how to run with it on again? thats my best guess

That could be. Just try unhooking your battery for 15 min. and see what that does for you. I just got done cleaning out my IAC, so I started it and revved it a couple times, and mine kind of does the same thing with the high idle for about 5 seconds also. It's only like 1200-1300 RPMs. Is yours higher than that?

It might just be normal for it to do that. Still wouldn't hurt to unhook the battery for a while.

ok it turns out that kinked hose did connect to something, so i guess ill leave it the way i found it until i can find an answer cause it ran fine before i messed with it

So whats up with the mikes hard lemonade mod and how many HP did it gain you???:icon_rofl:

^That one along with the miller lite can wrapped solenoid on the other side really throws you back in your seat.

Jablowme (first name Heywood?), did you do what they suggested? The hose from the air intake tube connects to the engine as like a breather tube would. Connect that hose, and unhook the + battery terminal for 15 minutes (this turns off & resets the computer). Reconnect the battery, and then let the truck idle (even though it is high, it will eventually settle down). This will take 15 minutes to relearn the electrical readings & "stuff." Drive it, and it should be normal.

Not plugging it back in can cause grit and film to enter, which clogs your sensors (like your air flow sensor) and changes engine wear. It may run fine now, but do you really want to chase down harder problems later? Check engine lights and passing emissions may also become a problem.
