i have a 2001 2.3 l its been running good ever sence i got it about three years ago well it started missing and its getting worse to the point when i stop it dies or when i try to turn a corner it kills too its a 5 speed standard . i changed the wires plugs air and fuel filter still runs the same way. fuel in fuel filter looked badd it was almost black when i poured it out of the old filter. anyone with a clue as to what i should do next

1)check for codes even if the cel is not on. you can get a code reader for $20(costcos). a code might come on and off if you check you might catch it.

2) run techron through the tank

3) Check fuel pressure. you want to see how long it takes to build up as well as how long it holds with engine off.

4)do regular maintenance, clean maf? air filter, clean iacv, pcv, inspect for any vacuum leaks , etc
