Got 3 misfire codes yesterday and thought it might be fuel injectors, so put full tank of gas, along with gas treatment. No improvement. Got Bosch Platinum plugs, put them in and truck is like new.
Now the symptoms were almost like fuel injectors, but more weird. Stumbling, missing at moderate loads with gas pedal depressed, but when downshifted to lower gear (kickdown), engine ran seemingly fine. It also stumbled when starting out, and when starting engine.
Well, after 105K the plugs were at almost .100 gap especially on drivers side. Passenger side not as bad. But the plugs all looked good, except for the gaps.
Needless to say, I was happy that all it was were the plugs. BTW: I took notice on a fellow member bringing up a problem with platinum 2 plugs when he started the engine and had to rev up to clear stumbling. I went with ordinary platinum plugs and no problema.
