I just got an adapter for Forscan and I was excited to test it out. I have a 1999 ford ranger FF3.0 v6. It’s generally running rough, but It’s got good parts in it. I’ve done all the typical tuneup. Anyways; I thought I would use Forscan to help me out here. I’m looking and the misfire reading in mode$06 on cylinder 8 is 70.93%?! Could someone help me understand this.

In the live data tab, you can pull up a misfire counter while it's running. Not sure how it is testing 10 cylinders but I'll try running this test you did in the morning on my '00 3.0l FF.

I’ll try it again this evening or tomorrow morning after I take the truck through its paces in town.
I’m also not sure what the other numbers in red mean. I’m assuming they’re red because of a problem.

Doesn't Forscan ask you to select a profile for whichever vehicle you're connecting to? I assume the "'99 Ranger 3.0FF" profile just has a flaw in showing the extra 4 "cylinders". TID 54 "highest misfire rate" is ignoring them, so that part's correct.

That doesn't help figure out what data your truck is trying to present in those slots, but to me that feels like tuner / EEC hacker territory.
