Misfire Identification

Sounds like the valves are too tight with a loss of compression. Or you may have a fouled plug from oil getting into the cylinder
Cylinder 1 did have some oil on the plug but it didn’t seem like a lot I mean compared to the rest it was a lot because the rest were relatively dry but I wouldn’t think fouling of plugs could happen that fast since the plugs are new and the engine has ran maybe a total of an 1 since im worried Im gunna ruin my fresh rebuild before I get to even have fun with it lol

Compression test results
Cylinder 1- 150psi
Cylinder 2- 150psi
Cylinder 3- 149psi
Cylinder 4- 153psi
Cylinder 5- 140psi
Cylinder 6- 135psi

and the spark plug wire test cylinder one didnt really seem to change it honestly i didn’t notice massive differences in that test except maybe my wires are bad because i could wiggle them and change how the engine was running even though they ohmed out well
You did use new plug wires right?

And even if you did new isnt always good.

You could have a crack or something in one or two and its shorting. Wait till its dark and look for arcs.

Start with the simple stuff.

No i didn’t use new i used the ones but do i just let it run in the dark and see if its arcing along the plugs

Go out at night and try spraying the wires with water from a squirt bottle while the engine is running. You should see some arcing if the wires are bad. And I know it sounds simple, but double check your firing order. 1,4,2,5,3,6. It's easy to cross two wires.

Well I decided to pick up a new set of wires and a distributor cap Im not 100% sure the wires are the problem but the amount if times they shocked me makes me think they are a problem and hopefully the problem but I also didnt see any arcing tonight but hopefully I was just blind lol

The compression numbers don't look out of whack to me, those two low cylinders could just be rings that haven't seated yet.

I guess I am skeptical that it's a plug or wire issue. I wish I knew how to guide you better on the valve adjustment. I have done them on a 2.8 but that had solid lifters. I remember it needing to be warmed up, they would be off a little bit if the engine was cold.

Well Im hoping that its a coincidence that the miss started after the other valve adjustments and it really just is the plug wires but Ill keep you guys updated

If you got zapped its very likely its plug wires

Here is it running with new wires and distributor cap but no alternator I am waiting on the replacement plug but with the sleet and blizzard coming I hope to get it on monday and I think everything should be running well then

I cant hear much on my phone speaker lol. Did the wires fix it?
