I have a 99 Ranger XLT with power mirrors. My question: are these the same mirrors that were used on Explorers of that model year?

A warning light company Whelen makes a product called MirrorBeams; they fit over the mirrors of certain vehicles and allow emergency lights to be installed over the mirror. They make them for Crown Vics, Tahoes, Chargers, etc. They also make/made them for Explorers, so I was wondering if the Explorer ones would fit on my Ranger.

Also, does anyone know how to take the power mirrors apart? I had them off a while ago because I was going to mount lights to them but they don't look like they come apart. Thanks!

How do you take the mirrors apart though? My Haynes book doesn't show anything. That's the main problem I'm running into here.

The mirror part itself is the same as the Explorers, however the mounting portion is NOT.

The Whelen mirror lights for the Explorers do fit Rangers.
