I need to replace the mirror on the windshield of my '08 Ranger and was wondering how it comes off the bracket on the windshield without removing the bracket?

Every one I've ever seen has an allen head setscrew that you loosen, then it slides off the plate that remains glued to the windshield. Once the setscrew is loosened, it requires little to no force to remove it, so be gentle.

I noticed there's no allen set screw to loosen to take the mirror off. Any other way to take it off?

There is a spring lock under it. There is a tool to take it off and half the time the tool snaps the button off anyway.

A little screw driver is effective as well.

I was able to remove the mirror and went to a JY and pulled one from a 1997 Explorer and it fits just fine.
